Best MCP Gateways for Companies (2026): Deployed OS, Runlayer, Mintive, Obot, TrueFoundry and Glean

The right MCP gateway depends on who will use it. For a large US enterprise with a security team, Runlayer and Mintive are built for you. For platform teams that want open source and Kubernetes, Obot. For engineers who want one gateway for both models and tools, TrueFoundry. For enterprise search across hundreds of apps, Glean. For a company of 50 to 1,000 people where most staff are not developers, who use Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot and need their own business systems connected, including ones no catalogue lists, that is what we built Deployed OS for.

We make one of the products on this list, so read it as a vendor’s view. Every fact about the others comes from their own websites and documentation, linked, as of October 2026. Where one of them is the better choice, we say so.

What an MCP gateway does

MCP is the standard Claude, ChatGPT and other AI tools use to reach other software. A gateway sits between the AI tools and your systems, so the company decides once which systems the AI may reach, who may use each one, and what gets logged, instead of every person wiring up their own connections. Our guide to MCP gateways explains the idea in full.

Six gateways compared

Built forHostingOpen sourceSystems outside the catalogue
Deployed OSCompanies of 50 to 1,000, non-developers in Claude, ChatGPT and CopilotManaged by us, your own cloud or on-premises; you choose where data is storedNoBuilt for you on request
RunlayerLarge enterprises, security and ITManaged or your own AWS or KubernetesNoBring your own
Mintive (formerly MintMCP)Enterprise IT, security and engineeringManaged; VPC on requestNoBring your own
ObotPlatform teams that run KubernetesSelf-hosted or Obot CloudYes, MITBring your own
TrueFoundryEngineering and ML platform teamsSaaS, VPC, on-premNoBring your own
GleanLarge enterprises needing enterprise searchSingle-tenant, Glean- or customer-hostedNoBring your own

“Bring your own” means the gateway can host an MCP server for a system it does not list, but your team has to find or build that server and keep it running. That matters most for industry and regional systems, such as an ERP, a payroll tool or a local accounting system, that no public catalogue covers.

Who each one is for

Runlayer

An enterprise “AI control plane” that started as an MCP gateway and now also covers skills, agent identity, runtime security scanning and discovery of shadow AI. Employees keep their own AI tools, including coding tools. It claims a catalogue of more than 18,000 vetted MCP servers, per-user sign-in, Okta SSO with SCIM, and audit logs you can send to a SIEM. Customers include Instacart and Gusto. We compare it in more depth in Runlayer alternatives. The better choice if you are a large company that needs device-level discovery of shadow AI and the deepest security tooling. runlayer.com

Mintive (formerly MintMCP)

Renamed in October 2026 and now one platform with an MCP gateway, an LLM gateway, guardrails for tool calls, agent monitoring and Slack-based agents. Employees keep Claude, ChatGPT and other tools. Access is grouped in team bundles with SCIM-driven membership, and it states SOC 2 Type II and HIPAA with business associate agreements. The better choice if you need SOC 2 or HIPAA paperwork today, or want an LLM gateway in the same product. mintive.com

Obot

An open-source MCP gateway (MIT licence) with registries for MCP servers and skills, access by user or identity-provider group, audit logs with an auditor role, and Okta SCIM. You run it on your own Kubernetes cluster or use Obot Cloud. The free community edition covers up to 100 users when self-hosted. The better choice if you want open source, full control over hosting and have the Kubernetes skills to run it. obot.ai

TrueFoundry

An AI gateway for both language models and MCP, part of a platform for deploying AI. It is aimed at engineering teams: setup goes through API keys, configuration files and device management, with tool-level access control, guardrails, SSO and SCIM. It can run on-premises or air-gapped. The better choice if your engineers want one gateway for model routing, budgets and tools, on your own infrastructure. truefoundry.com

Glean

Primarily enterprise search and an AI assistant over indexed company data, with more than 100 connectors, now also offering its own MCP server and an MCP gateway so Claude, ChatGPT and other tools can use it. Calls run as the individual user and respect each system’s permissions. The better choice if you are a large company and permission-aware search across many apps is the main need. Deployed OS

Our own. Built for companies where most people using AI are not developers: one company connection that works in Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot and coding tools that accept MCP, ready connectors for HubSpot, Salesforce, Microsoft 365, Slack, Google Workspace, Notion, Jira and more, including regional systems such as Fortnox and Visma, and connectors we build for the systems you are missing. Every person signs in with their own login, user groups decide who may read or change what, every call is logged, and the company’s skills and guardrails apply to everyone. Single sign-on comes from your own identity provider, and it runs managed by us, in your own cloud or on your own servers. We set it up with you rather than handing over a console. Not the better choice if you need threat detection on tool definitions, shadow AI discovery on devices or certifications we do not hold. See the connectors.

What we could not compare fairly

Prices: only some are public, and the enterprise ones are quoted per customer. Certifications: we list what each vendor states on its own site, not what we have verified. Ask each vendor for its current reports before you buy.

Five questions to choose by

  • Who will use it? Developers in coding tools, or the whole company in Claude and ChatGPT?
  • Who will run it? A platform team with Kubernetes, or nobody, so it has to be managed?
  • Which systems must it reach? Check that your actual systems are in the catalogue, including the industry and regional ones, and who builds the ones that are not.
  • Does each person sign in as themselves? A shared key means the AI sees everything the key sees.
  • Which papers does your buyer need? SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, EU hosting. Ask for them early; they decide more deals than features do.
