What we build for BambooHR
Deployed OS has no ready BambooHR connector yet. We build it for your company when you start, on BambooHR’s own API, with the same rules as every other connector: each person’s own login, access decided by group, every call logged.

- The employee directory and records with the fields you agree on, such as department, location, manager, job title and hire date.
- Time off
- Time off requests, who is out on a given day or week, and balances per policy.
- Reports
- Custom reports on the fields the connector may read, for questions that span many people, such as headcount by department.
- Applicant tracking
- Open jobs and their applications with status, where your BambooHR account includes applicant tracking.
Who sees what
- Read-only
- The connector reads. It does not request or approve time off, change an employee record or move a candidate.
- Company API key, access per group
- BambooHR’s API connects with an API key, not with each person’s own BambooHR login. So Deployed OS decides who gets it: admins choose which groups get BambooHR, and a group without access never sees the connector.
- Salary data kept apart
- A BambooHR API key sees only what the user who created it may see. We create it from a dedicated BambooHR user without access to compensation, so salary stays out unless you ask for it, and then only for the groups you name, such as HR or payroll.
- Every call logged
- Who asked, what was read and when. Deployed OS keeps the log, and it can be exported.
Set up the BambooHR connector in three steps
BambooHR’s own MCP server or Deployed OS?
BambooHR has its own MCP server, in closed beta, behind its Claude and ChatGPT connectors. Your company has to be accepted into the beta first, and the ChatGPT connector is open to a smaller group. Each person signs in on BambooHR’s own login page, and it only sees what they may already see in BambooHR. For an HR team in the beta that wants BambooHR in Claude, it is a good fit.
Deployed OS is for when BambooHR is one system among several, or you are not in the beta. It sits next to your payroll, IT and other tools in one company connection, admins decide which groups get BambooHR, every call is logged in one place, and the same connection works in both Claude and ChatGPT. We can also build tools for your own custom fields and reports.
BambooHR MCP: common questions
Yes. BambooHR has its own MCP server in closed beta, used by its Claude and ChatGPT connectors, and it works within each person’s own BambooHR permissions. Deployed OS adds BambooHR to one company connection with your other systems, with access per group, one log and the same setup in Claude and ChatGPT.
No. The connector reads employees, time off, reports and applicant tracking. It does not request or approve time off, edit records or change a candidate’s status.
Nobody, unless you decide otherwise. The API key only sees what its BambooHR user may see, and we set that user up without compensation access. If salary should be readable, we keep it to the groups you name, such as HR or payroll, and every call is logged.
No. BambooHR’s API connects with an API key, so the connector cannot apply each person’s own BambooHR permissions. Access is set in Deployed OS instead: which groups get BambooHR, and which fields the key’s user may read at all.
Deployed is an EU company and fully GDPR compliant, and you choose where your data is stored, down to the city. BambooHR data is fetched when someone asks for it.
