Shopify MCP: connect Shopify to Claude and ChatGPT
Ask Claude or ChatGPT where an order is, which products are running low or what a customer has bought before. The answer comes straight from your Shopify store.
Your admins decide which groups get Shopify, every call is logged with the person who asked, and the AI only reads. We set it up for your company next to your other systems.

What your team can do with Shopify in Claude and ChatGPT
Where is my order, answered in one go
What sells and what runs out
Stock and orders waiting to ship
The week in the store
Ask it like this
“Which orders from last week are still unfulfilled?”
“Where is order #1047? The customer is asking for tracking.”
“How many of the Fjällbo wool socks in size 39 to 42 do we have in the Malmö warehouse?”
“Which products have fewer than ten in stock across all locations?”
“What has Sara Lindqvist ordered from us, and has she returned anything?”
“Which five products sold the most in September?”
“Draft a reply to the customer on order #1052 about the delay. I will send it myself.”
What we build for Shopify
Deployed OS has no ready Shopify connector yet. We build it for your company when you start, on Shopify’s own API, with the same rules as every other connector: each person’s own login, access decided by group, every call logged.
- Orders
- Orders with their lines, totals, and payment and fulfilment status.
- Shipping and returns
- Fulfilments with tracking details, and returns on an order.
- Products and stock
- Products and variants, with inventory per location.
- Customers
- Customers and their orders.
Who sees what
- Read-only
- The connector reads. It does not refund, cancel or edit an order, and it does not change products or stock.
- Customer data only for those allowed
- Customer names, emails and addresses are only shown to the groups your admins allow.
- Your company decides who gets it
- Admins choose which groups get Shopify in Deployed OS. A group without access never sees the connector.
- Every call logged
- Who asked, what was read and when. Deployed OS keeps the log, and it can be exported.
Set up the Shopify connector in three steps
Shopify’s own MCP server or Deployed OS?
Shopify has its own connector for Claude and plugin for ChatGPT, installed from the AI tool and approved in your Shopify admin. It reads by default, can also change products, stock, collections and discount codes if you approve write access, and is limited by the staff account it acts through. Shopify also publishes MCP servers for developers (Dev MCP) and for shopping agents on a storefront. If Shopify is the only system your team wants in its AI tool, the official connector is a good fit.
Deployed OS is for when Shopify is one system among several. It sits next to your support desk, accounting and other tools in one company connection, admins decide which groups get each system, every call is logged in one place, and the same rules apply in Claude and ChatGPT, next to your company’s skills and guardrails.
Shopify MCP: common questions
Yes, several. Dev MCP is for developers and the storefront servers are for shopping agents. For running a store, Shopify has its own connector for Claude and plugin for ChatGPT, limited by your staff permissions. Deployed OS adds Shopify to one company connection with your other systems, with access per group and one log.
No. The connector we build reads orders, fulfilments, returns, products, stock and customers. It does not refund, cancel or edit orders, and it does not change products or inventory.
Only if their Shopify permissions include customers. Someone without access to customers in the Shopify admin will not get names, emails or addresses through the AI either.
Deployed is an EU company and fully GDPR compliant, and you choose where your data is stored, down to the city. Shopify data is fetched when someone asks for it.
