DATEV MCP: connect DATEV to Claude and ChatGPT
Ask Claude or ChatGPT which customer invoices are still open, what was posted to an account last quarter or which clients you can see in DATEV. The answer comes from DATEV, without waiting for the next evaluation from your Steuerberater.
We build the connector for your company on DATEV’s own interfaces. Each person signs in with their own DATEV login, such as DATEV SmartLogin, so DATEV decides what that person may see, and the connector only reads. If you have been looking for DATEV KI that works in the AI tools your team already uses, this is how it fits next to your other systems.

Better questions to the tax firm

Ask it like this
“Which open items does Brenner Haustechnik GmbH have with us, and which are older than 60 days?”
“What was posted to account 4930 in the third quarter, and what were the largest items?”
“Compare our personnel costs in September with August and explain the difference.”
“Which supplier invoices from Kaufmann Logistik are still unpaid?”
“Which DATEV clients can I access?”
“Draft three questions for our Steuerberater about the September postings. I will send them myself.”
What we build for DATEV
Deployed OS has no ready DATEV connector yet. We build it for your company when you start, on DATEV’s own API, with the same rules as every other connector: each person’s own login, access decided by group, every call logged.
- Clients and rights
- The DATEV clients (Mandanten) each person may access, and what they may do there, from DATEV’s own client API.
- Accounting data
- Accounts, postings, open items and evaluations from DATEV Rechnungswesen through DATEVconnect, where your DATEV programs run. Account postings need a separate DATEV licence.
- Documents
- Documents in DATEV Document Management, found by client, type or date, for the people whose DATEV rights allow it.
- Sending receipts, only if you ask
- Uploading invoices and receipts to DATEV Unternehmen online for your Steuerberater. This writes to DATEV, so we only build it on request.
Who sees what
- Read-only
- The connector reads. It does not post, change master data or send anything to your Steuerberater. Uploading receipts is a separate step we only add if you ask for it.
- Each person’s own DATEV login
- Everyone signs in as themselves: with a DATEV login such as the DATEV SmartLogin app or a SmartCard for DATEV’s online APIs, or as their DATEV user where DATEV runs in your own network. DATEV’s own rights management applies to every call, so someone without access to a client in DATEV does not see it through the AI either.
- Your company decides who gets it
- Admins choose which groups get DATEV in Deployed OS. A group without access never sees the connector.
- Every call logged
- Who asked, what was read and when. Deployed OS keeps the log, and it can be exported.

DATEV MCP: common questions
Not as far as we know. There are third-party ones: Klardaten offers an MCP server for DATEV, described as read-only and aimed at tax firms, and AnythingMCP has a DATEV adapter. Deployed OS adds DATEV to one company connection with your other systems, with each person’s own DATEV login, access per group and one log, in both Claude and ChatGPT.
No. The connector reads clients, accounting data and documents. It does not post or change records. Sending receipts to DATEV Unternehmen online writes to DATEV, and we only build it if you ask for it.
Yes. Everyone signs in with their own DATEV login, and DATEV’s rights management applies to every call. The AI cannot see more than the person could in DATEV.
Often, yes. In many companies the bookkeeping is done by the tax firm in its own DATEV installation, and the firm decides who may access which client. We plan the setup with you and, where needed, with your Steuerberater.
Deployed is an EU company and fully GDPR compliant, and you choose where your data is stored, down to the city. DATEV data is fetched when someone asks for it.
It depends on the size of your team. Get in touch and we will walk you through it.
