Xero MCP: connect Xero to Claude and ChatGPT
Ask Claude or ChatGPT which customers are overdue, what a client has been invoiced since April or which bills are due before the next payment run. The answer comes straight from Xero, from the organisation you choose. No report to build, no CSV to clean up.
Xero AI for the whole team, with one rule: everyone connects with their own Xero login. The AI sees what that person’s Xero role allows, and nothing is created, approved or sent.

Ask it like this
“Which sales invoices are overdue right now, and what’s the total amount due?”
“Show everything we’ve invoiced Harbour Lane Ltd since April, with the lines on the largest invoice.”
“Which bills are still unpaid, and which of them are due before the end of the month?”
“List the draft invoices that haven’t been approved yet.”
“What’s the VAT number and default currency for Greenfield Studios?”
“Summarise this quarter’s sales invoices per customer, top ten, with what’s still due.”

Need it to do more? We extend connectors for the companies that use them.
Who sees what
- Read-only
- The connector reads contacts, sales invoices and bills. It cannot create, approve or send anything in Xero.
- Each person’s own Xero role
- Everyone connects their own Xero login and chooses the organisation, so the AI sees what that user sees. A role without access to bills gets no bills through the AI either.
- You choose who gets it
- Admins decide which groups at the company can use the Xero connector at all. Everyone else never sees it.
- Every call logged
- Who asked, which connector, when. Deployed OS shows reads per connector and per person, and the log can be exported.
Set up the Xero connector in three steps
Xero’s own MCP server or Deployed OS?
Xero publishes its own MCP server. The open-source version on GitHub runs on your own computer with a custom connection to one organisation, and can create and update records as well as read them. Xero also offers a hosted version. For one person or a developer, it is a good fit.
Deployed OS is for when the whole company should use it. One company connection for all your tools, with each person on their own Xero login, admins choosing which groups get Xero, and a log of every call. The same connection works in Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot, next to your company’s skills and guardrails.
Xero MCP: common questions
Yes. Xero publishes its own MCP server, and it suits one person or a developer well. Deployed OS gives the whole company the same connection, with each person’s own login, access per group and a log of every call.
No. The connector only reads contacts, invoices and bills. Nothing is created, approved or sent. If you want it to do more, for example draft invoices, we can extend it for you.
Your admin sets up Xero in Deployed OS once. You add your company’s Deployed OS connection in Claude, sign in to Xero with your own login and start asking. The same connection works in ChatGPT and Copilot.
Each person picks the organisation when they connect. If people have access to several, the admin names the one to use in Deployed OS, so the AI always looks in the right books.
Deployed is an EU company and fully GDPR compliant, and you choose where your data is stored, down to the city. Xero data is fetched when someone asks for it.
