Pennylane MCP: connect Pennylane to Claude and ChatGPT
Ask Claude or ChatGPT which customer invoices are overdue, what you owe a supplier or which bank transactions still have no receipt. The answer comes straight from Pennylane, the same books your expert-comptable works in, without an export first.
We build the connector for your company on Pennylane’s own API, next to your other systems. It only reads unless you ask for more, and your admins decide which groups get it.

“List the supplier invoices due before the end of November, by supplier.”
“Which bank transactions from October have no invoice or receipt attached?”
“What have we invoiced Atelier Dumas this year, including credit notes?”
“Summarise our costs by category this quarter compared with the same quarter last year.”
“Which suppliers did we pay the most in September?”
What we build for Pennylane
Deployed OS has no ready Pennylane connector yet. We build it for your company when you start, on Pennylane’s own API, with the same rules as every other connector: each person’s own login, access decided by group, every call logged.
- Customer invoices and credit notes
- Invoices and credit notes with customer, amounts, due date and payment status.
- Supplier invoices
- Supplier invoices with supplier, due date and status, so the AI can say what you owe and when.
- Bank transactions
- Transactions on the bank accounts connected to Pennylane, and whether they are matched to an invoice.
- Ledger and categories
- Ledger accounts, ledger entries and your analytical categories, so costs and revenue can be grouped the way your company does it.
- Customers and suppliers
- The customer and supplier records behind the invoices.
Who sees what
- Read-only by default
- The connector reads. It does not create invoices, post entries or match transactions. Pennylane’s API can write with the right scopes, so if you want an action such as drafting an invoice, we build it on request and only after you approve it.
- Access per group, not per Pennylane login
- For a company’s own integration, Pennylane’s API uses a token your Pennylane admin creates, with the read scopes you choose. So people do not sign in with their own Pennylane login; Deployed OS decides who may use it.
- Your company decides who gets it
- Admins choose which groups get Pennylane in Deployed OS, for example finance and management only. A group without access never sees the connector.
- Every call logged
- Who asked, what was read and when. Deployed OS keeps the log, and it can be exported.

Pennylane’s own MCP server or Deployed OS?
Pennylane has its own MCP server, open to accounting firms and to companies on the Essentiel plan or higher. Each person signs in with their own Pennylane login, the AI sees only what that person can see, and you can turn on only some of its tools. For now it is read-only, and users with the employee role cannot use it. If the job is one person asking questions about the books from Claude or ChatGPT, it is a good fit.
Deployed OS is for when Pennylane is one system among several, or you want more than reading. We can add the write actions or company-specific tools you ask for, it sits next to your bank, CRM and other tools in one company connection, admins decide which groups get each system, every call is logged in one place, and the same rules apply in Claude and ChatGPT.
Pennylane MCP: common questions
Yes. Pennylane launched its own MCP server in August 2026 for firms and for companies on Essentiel or higher. Each person signs in with their own Pennylane login and, for now, it only reads. Deployed OS adds Pennylane to one company connection with your other systems, with access per group, one log and write actions if you want them.
Not by default. The connector we build reads invoices, transactions and the ledger. Pennylane’s API allows writing with the right scopes, so we can add a specific action, such as drafting a customer invoice, if you ask for it.
No. A company’s own integration with Pennylane’s API uses a token your Pennylane admin creates, limited to the scopes you choose. Who may use it is decided per group in Deployed OS, and every call is logged.
No. Your accountant keeps working in Pennylane as before. The connector only reads your company’s data for the people you give access to, and nothing is sent to the firm.
Deployed is an EU company and fully GDPR compliant, and you choose where your data is stored, down to the city. Pennylane data is fetched when someone asks for it.
